Charlotte "Lala" Arguello, Age :104

Apr 13,1914---Mar 10,2019

On Sunday March 10th, 2019, Charlotte (Lala) Arguello, loving, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully at the age of 104.

Charlotte was born on April 13th, 1914 to Jose Maria and Agapita Espinoza in El Llano at her home. At the age of 33 she began working as an Administrative Custodian at the Burlington train station in Denver, Colorado. She loved the Rocky Mountains only to return as often as possible to spend time with her extended family in Colorado. In 1948 she began her efforts as a volunteer with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). She devoted 50 years to the VFW in honor of her beloved brother, Johnny Espinoza who lost his life during the World War II in 1946.

Through her devout Catholic faith, she served in La Sociedad de Las Carmelitas of the Santa Cruz de la Cañada Parish. She was not only known for her devotion to God and her church, but to her family. She was known to many as “my Lala” and was the Matriarch to her family. She was a masterful seamstress and cook. She took care of those in need and those she could help. She always had her door open to offer you a cup of coffee, a friendly smile, or a calming conversation.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her son in law, Abe Gonzales, sister Anita (Annie) Delgado and very special nephew, Cristóbal Delgado. She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Gonzales, granddaughter, Melanie Fordham and fiancé, Johnny Sandoval, her great-granddaughter, Kristen Fordham, great-grandson, Jace Fordham, and sister, Belen Vigil. Charlotte is survived by many close and special nieces, nephews, and cousins too many to count. She loved many as her own and held them very dear to her heart.

The celebration of Charlotte’s life will begin on Wednesday March 13th, 2019. A Rosary will be recited beginning at 7:30pm at Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church, with Funeral Mass on Thursday March 14th, 2019 at 11:00am also at Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church, burial to follow. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Johnny Sandoval, Jace Fordham, Danny Vigil, Charles Salazar, Mark Salazar and Sammy Salazar.

To La La, It breaks my heart to know you have left us, but I know you are with GOD. I am grateful that the Lord Blessed you with a long life so I could know you. You will always be in my heart and in my memories. I will tell my children when I grow up and get married, of my aunt who lived a long and blessed life. You have fought the hard fight and your time has now come to rest in peace. May the Angels open the gates of Heaven for you, may our deceased family rejoice and welcome you home and our Merciful and Loving God give your Soul your rightful place in his paradise. You have left a legacy never to be forgotten. Love Dakota Herrera Salazar
