Margaret Storey, Age :85

Feb 22,1934---May 05,2019

Our Mom, Margaret Storey, age 85, of Albuquerque passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 5, 2019.

She was born February 22, 1934 in Abo, New Mexico, the daughter of Juan Blas and Gregorita Flores. At a younger age her family moved to Vaughn, NM where her dad worked for the railroad.

On January 15, 1955, she married the love of her life, our dad, Gilbert Storey. They spent their first two years of marriage in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma while dad was in the service. Happily, they made their way back to Albuquerque, NM to be close to their families.

Margaret is survived by: her husband Gilbert, her son Gil "chug"(barb) Storey, her Daughter Mary, her son James(Dana), her daughter Johneye Gayle; eight grandchildren, Gayle, Freddie, Jazmine, Nikki, Amber, Chelsea (Thad), Courtney (Josh); five great-grandchildren, Isaac, Avah, Natalie, Braxton, Bradlie, ; her sisters, Mona, Connie (Nick), Sally (Dennis), Kathy; as well as many nieces and nephews.

As we remember our mom, we hope you enjoy a side of her you may not have known but we LOVE.

Mom loved our Heavenly Father, Jesus our Savior, her family, friends, social events, music, reading, sitting outside on a cool spring morning or warm summer night. Mom loved to tell stories of the past some that could have been best sellers. Mom loved to meet new people, she would always go out of her way to you feel loved, comfortable, a part of the family. If mom noticed someone by themselves, she would go and bring them along.

Mom taught CDC at our Lady of Fatima Church for fourteen plus years where she was blessed by the many lives around her.  Mom loved hats, especially Easter hats. She would wear a new one every year. Pink was her favorite. Mom would wear any kind of hat to make you smile, a crispy cream hat to a sailor hat.  Mom loved to make people smile and laugh. She would have you busting at your sides. She would always tell us don't be to serious. She made us laugh and was quick to see humor in all situations.  Mom had great empathy for everyone and had a calling to help others. Mom was quick to give out hugs to everyone who needed them.  Mom adored her grandchildren who lovingly call her "gran" or "granny". Mom was and is always there for them.  She would do anything for them.  All of us always knew we were loved and believed that God picked her to be our mother, sister, aunt or friend.

We feel a great loss without her but are confident she is in heaven singing and praising our LORD GOD.

A viewing and Celebration of Life will be taking place on Wednesday, May 8th at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  On Thursday May 9th at Our Lady of Fatima Parish a viewing will begin at 5:00 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM.  Final viewing will be on Friday May10th also at the Church with Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Family ,Whittier ,California

To Gilbert, Chugi, Rubina, Jimmy and Johnny, The Storey family is so very sorry to hear of the news of your dear wife and mother's passing. The beautiful words you spoke of her rang so very true to our precious memories of our time with dear Margaret. Mom/Bessie remembers her sweet friendship from the early age of 15, and enjoying even more special time when she became a sister-in-law. Aunt Margaret was very tender, sweet and fed us well - from Berna to Timmy! We are all saddened by this news, but rejoice with you as we hear of her continued faith in Jesus Christ. Her service to her Lord is legacy building and makes us proud to be a part of her family. We will continually pray for each of you as you embrace this loss, and do your very best to live each day in her absence. Much love, Bessie, Berna, Paige and Tim Storey.

Please accept my condolence. I hope you find comfort in your memories of Margaret and from others who remember her fondly. Psalms 46:1 says; "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." May these words help comfort your heart in the days ahead as you go through this difficult time. My deepest sympathy.
