GARY ALEX MARTINEZ, 57, a resident of Hernandez passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Gary was preceded in death by his Father, Reynaldo Martinez, grandparents, Fidel and Emilia Martinez and Emedardo and Sofia Lopez, nephew, Raymond Martinez and Step-Brother James Fernandez. Gary is survived by the love of his life and wife of 38 years, Debra Martinez; mother, Aurelia Fernandez (Juan) of Espanola; in-laws, Salvador and Candie Olguin of El Guique; sister, Sharon Trujillo (Craig)of Espanola; brother-in-law, Gilbert Olguin(Karri) of Los Alamos; sister-in-laws Rita Lynn Chavez (Edward) of San Juan Pueblo and Christy Olguin of Espanola; step-sister, Janice Fernandez of Dixon; along with numerous loving relatives and friends.

A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Jose Mission Catholic Church in Hernandez. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the San Jose Mission Catholic Church in Hernandez, NM with burial to follow at the Nuestro Senora de Carmen cemetery in Chimayo, NM. Serving the family as pallbearers are Kenny Salazar, Ethan Trujillo, Eric Lopez, Nikki Valdez, Javier Chavez and Edward Chavez III.
