Agnes family, My condolences on the loss of Mr. Agnes, he was a good friend of mine as well as my late dad Coach Henry Sanchez(Bernalillo and NMHU). Mr. Agnes had a compassion and way about him second to none , that was very admirable to me in our society. He was my favorite referee of all time and i remember fondly playing in games reffed by Mr. Agnes at NMHU. Being a proud Bulldog like Mr. Agnes even made it more special to talk and visit with him. I will always remember my dad telling me Mr. Agnes was the 1st Albuquerque prep basketball player in history to dunk in a regulation game. I thought that was the coolest thing to know and tell people. God Bless the Agnes family. Darren Sanchez

To the Family of Eugene Agnes, My Deepest Heartfelt Condolences, I remember this man as one hecka of a referee back in my school days. He was amazing in the way he officiated. “Number 33 your were just a tad offsides let’s set back just a bit next time. “ Always letting the player know what the infraction was. I watched him at different levels and different times. May God grant you such great memories to keep him close to your hearts. He truly was a very one of a kind kinda man. May He now Rest In Peace. An admirer of a Great Man from way back. Class of 1975 Socorro High School. Marty Rivera

Our prayers go out to the family at your loss. Eugene was a great man who cared for the youth. I will never forget how he would talk to the basketball players after he had called a foul on them. His words of wisdom and comfort were always right on time. He was one of the good ones.
