Steve “Ron” Broadnax

Feb 01,1953---Aug 28,2019

Steve “Ron” Broadnax, born February 1, 1953 in Tulsa, OK. Called home August 28, 2019 in Albuquerque, NM. He leaves behind his wife Ruth, daughter Qiana Campbell, mother-in-law Betty Vanderwagen, sisters-in-law Claire Broadnax, Barbara Vanderwagen, Claudia Delaney and Glenna Little, brother-in-law Norman Vanderwagen and their spouses. Step children Roxanne Luna, Jared Klunczyk, and their spouses. Grandchildren Raquel Gonzales, Jerry Gonzales, Bradley McBain, Natalie Luna, Juliana Klunczyk, Carly Luna, Olivia Klunczyk, and Lyrique Campbell. His very dear friend Tamara Lebel. Proceeded in death by his sister Barbara Broadnax, brother Reginald Broadnax, parents Sam and Willa D. Broadnax, and his godson Issac Romero.

Ron loved life and his family. He was an Executive Chef, a hell of a welder, a devoted New England Patriots fan and a good friend. Many times, he went above and beyond friendship by making and delivering meals to those who had more month than money. Also, he was the most entertaining person I ever met.

Ron proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam: He was just one of the few given the responsibility of identifying those who gave all.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 11 am at Grace United Methodist Church, 420 San Lorenzo NW, Albuquerque, NM.

Life asked Death,"Why do people love me but hate you?" Death responded, " Because you are a beautiful lie and I am a painful truth." You may be miles away but yet so close in my heart. My deepest Condolences

Ron was like a second father to me. I'm grateful to have had the privilege of knowing him for nearly 10 years. It is so rare to find people as genuine as him and Ruth, and I cherish their presence in my life. I'm immensely saddened at his passing.
