Barbara Ann Doyle

Feb 27,1941---Jan 26,2020

Mrs. Barbara Ann Doyle, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the age of 78. She was surrounded by family and blanketed with all of her family and friends’ love. Barbara was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by all.

Barbara was born on February 27, 1941 in Denver, CO. She grew up working on a farm with her family and learned that hard work pays off at an early age. She married the love of her life and best friend, John Doyle, in Blackhawk, CO and was whisked off her feet as they both traveled the world while John served in the Air Force. In 1976, she made her home in Albuquerque, NM and remained there to raise her children. She spent the majority of her successful career as the Human Resources Director at the New Mexico State Fair, where she provided guidance and assistance to everyone she came into contact with. She was known as “Grammy” by her six grandkids, who loved her and always enjoyed a good game of Scrabble with her.

She loved traveling with family and friends, volunteering, spending time in the mountains, hanging out with her daughter and friends at the gym, and having lunch and talking with all her friends at O’Niell’s and Perea’s restaurants. She cherished all the special time with her kids and grandkids and loved them dearly.

Her loving husband, John, preceded Barbara in death. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Doyle; her eldest son John Doyle and his wife Laura and their children Justin, Ryan, and Shannon; her son James Doyle and his wife Wendy and their children Abbey, Rachael, and Luke; and family and friends that span the country.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will take place to share stories and to toast an amazing Mother, Grammy, and friend to all. Date and location of the ceremony will be sent out at a later date. The family is grateful for the condolences and overwhelming support from family and friends, but declines flowers and donations at this time.

I am overcome with sadness and send my love and condolences to the family of one of my good friends. I worked with Barb at the fair in the accounting department and our friendship continued through the years including our health battles. I will try to get hold of Danny or Jimmy (precious) to express my condolences and see what I can do to help acknowledge her beautiful life.
