Lucretia S. Quesnell, Age :100

Dec 15,1919---Mar 03,2020

Lu Sanders Quesnell passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at home surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Crookston, Minnesota, but relocated her family to New Mexico in 1961 and has been a Peralta resident for fifty-four years.  She and her beloved husband of 70 years, Virgil Quesnell, founded the Bosque Quadrillos Square Dancing Club in 1969. She was an active member of the community, serving on the Bosque Farms fair board, rodeo association, and garden club. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday. To celebrate, Lu shared her love of reading with elementary schoolers by donating over 200 books to Peralta Elementary School and Carter Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Virgil Quesnell, brother Harry Sanders, son-in-law Penn Davis, and grandson Scott Davis. Lu is survived by her children, Linda Davis, Mike Quesnell, Eva Quesnell, and Susie Quesnell and her partner George Riley; grandchildren, Penny Davis, Sarah Quesnell, and Katie Quesnell; great-grandchildren, Andrew Denas, Christopher McKee, and Seth Davis; and dedicated lap dog Bobby. Instead of dressing in black, the family is encouraging friends in attendance to brighten up the service by wearing bright colors or florals. All services will be held at Riverside Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2020. A viewing and services will be held starting at 11:00 AM, officiated by Larry Chambers
