Lurden Verda “Nunie” Rivera

Lurden Verda “Nunie” Rivera, 80, returned to her heavenly home on March 8th, 2020. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Lurden was born to the late Facundo Medina and Emilia Lopez-Medina, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and Homemaker. (Achievements)

Lurden was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Jesse J. Rivera, on January 5th,1963 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born and raised in Ojo Sarco, New Mexico. Lurden raised her six children with patience, discipline and strength. She taught them reading, writing, and arithmetic.

She was a loving and giving person to all within her life. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.

Lurden, “Nunie”, is survived by her husband, Jesse J. Rivera, her four sons, Jeffrey U. Rivera, Jason J.C. Rivera and his wife Bobbie Rivera, Andre Elijah Rivera, Joel R. Rivera and his wife Bernadette Rivera, her two daughters, Nadine T. Rivera, Yvonne E. Rivera-Graham, her grandchildren, Fabian G. Rodriguez, Benjamin M. Rivera, Joshua P. Graham, Nikko C. Rivera, Anthony J. Rivera, Tiarra E. Graham, Isais R. Rivera, Andrew J. Rivera, JonDavid J. Rivera, Luanna J. Rivera, Emilio Duran-Rivera, Rose J. Rivera, her great grandchild, Mariana A. Rivera, her sister, Ida Padilla, She is preceded in death by her parents, Facundo & Emilia Medina, her brothers, Armando Medina, Ismael Medina, Thomas Medina, her sister, Mary Martinez, her grandchild, Christopher J. Rivera.

Lurden Verda “Nunie” Rivera will be buried at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family gratefully accepts any gestures and donations, but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly appreciated, as well. (Website)
