Feb 18,1932---Mar 18,2020

1932  -  2020

Our beloved Dad has slipped away from us on March18, 2020 to make his way home.  Felimon Vigil (AKA File, Simon, and Filly) was born in Ojo Feliz, New Mexico on February 18, 1932 to Tomás and Fedelina (Casias)          Vigil, who preceded him in death.  Also, preceding him were his beloved wife, Dorothy (Dora) of 57 years; his in-laws, Luis and Escolastica (Cordova) Romero; his brothers Mile, Ruben (Rubel), Johnny and Gilbert Vigil; sisters-in-law, Rosie, Rose Marie, Mercedes and Ida Vigil; brothers-in-law, Herman Casias and Amadeo Gonzales; granddaughter, Linda Vigil; and son-in-law, Eddie Wood.

He is survived by his beloved partner of ten years Mabel Flores and her loving family; Children, Mary H. Wood; Lillian (Ruben) Cordova; Dale Vigil; Gary Vigil (Faye); Antonio “Rancho” Vigil (Carmen); Theresa Vigil (Carlos); Phillip “Tommy” Vigil (Tricia); and Joshua Tafoya (Jamie); Grandchildren, Andrew Wood (partner Tommy); Elias (Phoenicia) Cordova; Marcos (Janelle) Cordova; Amanda (Jake) Telles; Steve Vigil; Carlos Vigil; Denika Vigil; and Oryn Michael Tafoya; Great Grandchildren, Antonio, Chase and Layla Cordova; Cruz, Sierra, and Sevilla Cordova; Mina Lily Telles; Katelynn Vigil and Heaven Rose Archuleta.

He is also survived by brother Albin Vigil, sisters- and brothers-in law Viola Vigil; Dolores Gonzales; Alice Casias; Ray (Karen) Romero; Jerry (Sally) Romero; Pauline (Francisco) Herrera; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, bunches of friends, god children, all of whom he loved very much.

The things remembered most about Felimon were the many times he sat with his children when they were ill, many hours in the middle of the night keeping watch with love and kindness.  His hands were healing hands and he helped with stomachaches and heartaches.  Felimon loved the outdoors and took his children on many hunting and fishing trips.  He longed for the mountains and the fresh air.  His favorite pastimes included singing and dancing.  Every day his voice could be heard ringing through the house and on the weekends he could be found at the VFW, cutting a rug like no other.

Felimon was a strong and proud man, he was also stubborn as hell, but had the greatest sense of humor.  Wherever Felimon was, you can bet that there was laughter and good times.  Felimon was a good man, a great husband, a wonderful father and grandfather.  The world was blessed by his presence and he will be greatly missed by all.

As he requested, Felimon will be cremated.  Also, as he requested, there will be no services.

Goodbye Felimon Vigil, we will never ever forget you.  Love, Your Clan

I've known u 24 yrs. That's more than half my life. I was best friends with your grandson A. Wood and we probably drove u crazy going to each others houses daily. Well...it was what I thought. But I was wrong, you and your family always treated me like such. I always thought how funny it was when because Andy and I would be around each other so much you all thought we were a couple. It wasn't that....I enjoyed his friendship as well as yours and your family. I think you all figured that out later on. You made good food and would always encourage us to eat. Ha you didnt have to ask us twice. Thank you for being such a funny and kind creature. I missed seeing you around town and catching up. But now you gotta tell your story to others. Wherever you are or wherever you go.....peace n love n light. P. Chavez
