Elijah Leigh Encinias-Sanchez “Lijah”

Elijah, 27, went home to be with our Lord on May 12, 2020. He was born on February 19, 1993, to Martin Sanchez and Colette Encinias. He was an amazing father, son, brother and uncle with a heart of gold. Elijah’s smile would light up the room and he had such an amazing sense of humor. He touched the hearts of many lives and will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by his Maternal Great Grandparents, Herb Warner and Theresa Warner; Nephew, Diego Sanchez Aguirre; Uncle, Augustine Gonzalez; and aunt, Angelique Encinias. Left to cherish his memory are his precious children, Elisabeth Sanchez, Isaiah Sanchez and Faith Sanchez, whom he loved with all of his heart; Grandmother, Barbara Ortega “MOM” and Valentina Gallegos; Grandfather, Salomon Sanchez; Brothers, Clarence Sanchez (Jeanell Sanchez) and Gabriel Sanchez; Sister, Linda Sanchez (David Aguirre); Nephews, Jeremiah Aguirre, Elijah Aguirre and Clarence JR Sanchez; Nieces, Angelique Sanchez, Linda Sanchez and Aaliyah Aguirre; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions: The state of NM is mandating everyone wear face coverings in indoor and outdoor public spaces.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home of Santa Fe Chapel, 3232 Cerrillos Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87507

Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at San Ysidro Labrador Catholic Church in North San Ysidro.

The interment will follow at North San Ysidro Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Clarence Sanchez, Gabriel Sanchez, David Aguirre, Cameron Encinias, Joseph Gallegos, Rick Sanchez and Raynaldo Gonzales; and the following honorary pallbearers: Linda Sanchez, Jeremiah Aguirre, Elijah Aguirre, Aaliyah Aguirre, Jeanell Sanchez, Angelique Sanchez, Clarence JR Sanchez, Linda Sanchez “Bubbas”, Charlene Gabaldon and Victor Gabaldon.

God saw you getting tired, so he wrapped his arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me”, and lifted you to rest. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone for part of us went with you when God took you home.

Rest in Peace, until we meet again
