Maxine Ramirez

Sep 27,1951---Jun 20,2020

Maxine Ramirez was born in Socorro, NM on September 27, 1951. She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. On Saturday June 20, 2020, she went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is preceeded in death by her parents, Jose and Emena Montoya, her sister, Monica Harrison, and her nephew Anthony Salazar who she loved very much. She is survived by her siblings, Joe A Montoya (Archie) and wife, Viola, Helen Salazar and husband Alex (Coon), Janette Ramirez and husband Ralph, and Therese Maestas and husband Bengy. Her three children, Katrina Chavez and husband Emilio, Maria Ramirez and fiancé Lawerence, and Thomas Ramirez and wife Cindy. Her grandchildren, Emilio IV and wife Lyana, Joshua, Isaiah, Destiny, Savannah, Joeleena, Josiah, and Angelo. She also has six great granddaughters and one more baby on the way. Maxine has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.

She was a woman with such a deep connection with God, when she prayed you could feel His loving arms wrapped around you. She enjoyed her coffee as well as grandma cookies and poptarts. She loved spending hours at the casino and playing bingo with her sisters. She had a beautiful voice when she sang and played her guitar, which she learned at a young age. Maxine loved a variety of music ranging from gospel, Christian, country, soul and everything in between. She loved to dance and had a personality that was out of this world. She was a jokester who loved to laugh and make people laugh, even if it made her look goofy.

In November 2018, Maxine began a journey of illnesses including breast cancer which she beat on March 17, 2020, a triple bypass on July 25, 2019 and a major stroke on May 7, 2020. She fought long and hard throughout the almost two years and unfortunately her body was tired and she succumbed to the damage of the major stroke.

We all love and miss her dearly, however, we are at peace knowing that she is no longer suffering. We love you mama, grandma and nana. "I love you more"

I know I can't possibly miss her more than you guys do, but I do know I miss her an awful lot and I wish I could have spoken to her when she could still carry on a conversation. I know she is free from illness now and that's what really counts! Love you, Maxine, and miss you more everyday!!
