Feb 07,1946---Jul 22,2020

William E. McCormick, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in Santa Fe, New Mexico at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Bill was born in Jacksonville, Florida February 7, 1946 to Curtis L. McCormick and Inez Collins McCormick. Early on he displayed great intelligence, a wry sense of humor and an independent streak that ultimately led him to investigate alternative ways of understanding life. He graduated from Florida State University in 1967 with a BS in Business Administration and Accounting. After a first job with IBM he earned an MBA in Information Systems and Bill was also very active in community service having served as a volunteer on the boards of several nonprofit corporations including the Santa Fe Waldorf School.

As a deep thinker who had found meaning in the work of the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner, he was known to hold forth at length on the significance of world events and “how it all fits together.” As a longtime member of the Anthroposophical Society and as well as the Christian Community church his voice was greatly respected in discussion groups on the spiritual meanings of life.

Bill is survived by his wife Jill McCormick and son, Daniel McCormick, his sister Talissa McCormick, his daughters Michelle Gokarakonda and Erin Coffee and four grandchildren.
