Cecilio Pino, Age :97

May 13,1923---Jul 22,2020

Cecilio Pino, 97 years old, passed away peacefully at his daughters’ home in Bernalillo, New Mexico on July 22nd, 2020.

  He is survived by his wife Stella L. Pino; his daughter Peggy and husband Conrad V. Dimas; grandchildren Gabriel Roybal and girlfriend Stephanie Molina, Francisco Roybal and girlfriend Kim Renna; brother Reynaldo (Lalo) Pino; sister Rebecca Aragon; sister in laws Agneda Pino and Candida Baca and many nieces and nephews.

  He is proceeded in death by his parents Samuel and Rebecca Samora Pino; brothers Prospero Pino, Esteban Pino, Samuel Pino, Pedro Pino, Abelino Pino, Arturo Pino; sisters Brigida Montaño and Celia Marquez. 

  Mr. Pino attended Catholic school in Anton Chico. He was drafted into WWII as a Private First Class in 1943 into the United States Army's 395th Inf. Regiment. He fought on the frontlines of the Battle of Rhineland as a 1607 Mortar Gunner. After returning from WWII, Mr. Pino worked for the railroads for 5 years. He then went on to be a jailor under the authority of Sheriff Jose Marquez in Guadalupe County for 7 years. In 1957 he proceeded to work for Guadalupe County as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 12 years. After retiring from the county, Mr. Pino became a bus driver. He retired at the age of 65. Mr. Pino went on to become a devoted rancher in Anton Chico. He adored his cows and dogs.

  A special thank you to his nephew Nicholas Pino, who would come by occasionally and take his uncle out on little fieldtrips. Cecilio loved those times spent with his nephew. 

    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6th, 2020 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, New Mexico at 11am. Following at 2:30pm, will be Cecilio's interment which will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery as a symbol of his love for his country. 

Pallbearers: Nicholas Pino, Phillip Romero, Dwayne Pino, Anthony Gonzalez, Gabriel Roybal, and Francsico Roybal.  Due to Covid-19, we are unable to have Pallbearers provide their services.

  Cecilio will be greatly missed.
