Sad to hear he passed. He was one of the greatest athletes to come from this area. I played in the City-County All Star football game with him in '71 and he was also in the basketball and baseball All Star games games that year. He was legendary! Larry Sprague Shaver Lake, CA

I became a close friend of Claude when he moved to Easton and attended Washington Colony. We kind of went separate ways in high school but always remained friends. I got to visit with him at the Wall of Fame ceremony last year. I can't believe it has been over a year already. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I will never forget all the things we did together while we were in elementary school. He was a true friend.

So sad to hear about my former teammate Claude's passing. Claude and I were named to all 3 Fresno-City County all star games (football, basketball and baseball) in 1971. Only a handful in history to be named all three. But the fact is, he was the best player and captain on every team and a legend. He was a game breaker. He was the most humble and kindest teammate you could ever want. I have been trying to find him for 49 years. Tragic. My condolences to his family.

I am proud to say that I was one of those life-long friendships of Wes due to our working together for 7 years. He was gruff on the outside but always helpful when you needed something. I'll miss him.
