Steven Victor Chancellor, Age :64

Jul 28,1956---Sep 30,2020

On September 30, 2020, Steven Victor Chancellor, beloved husband, father and friend of many, joined our Lord at age 64.

Steve was born July 28, 1956, in Abilene, Texas, to Charles Edwin and Kathryn Vie Chancellor. He spent his high school years in Littleton, Colorado, and continued on to college in Denver. On July 3rd, 1984, he married Kristin Harp and they raised two children, Reese Alan and Cherie Nicole Chancellor.

In his 33 years as Owner/Manager of Santa Fe Jewelers Supply, Steve became known as the “Tool Doctor”. He could fix almost anything and offered his time and advice freely. Prior to that, he worked as a machine programmer and a petroleum land man. He often teased that he was waiting to move on to his fourth profession after SFJS.

He loved jazz music, played guitar and even sang in a rock and roll band in his late teens and early twenties. He had a lovely voice that he showcased in high school as part of a madrigal group. Steve and golf had a love-hate relationship. He was quite athletic, though, and could play most any sport. In his school years he was a baseball player, champion bowler and a good gymnast.

What he excelled at most was being a great Dad and devoted husband. He was a humble, kind and unselfish man who always put others first. He will be sorely missed by many.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Charles, and his mother, Kathryn. He is survived by his wife, Kristin, his two children, Reese and Cherie, daughter-in-law Starla Broughton and son-in-law Geri Torok, grandchildren Alan, Alyssa and Kristin, his brother Jeff, his sisters, Gena Rotter and Kimberly McKee, his sister-in-law Stephanie Harp, his cousins Leslie Salas and Marshall Nay, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 16th, at 11:00am. Due to COVID restrictions, the service will be streamed on the Santa Fe Jewelers Supply’s Facebook page. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network in Steve’s name to promote early cancer awareness for others.
