Vicenta J. (Bessie) Trujillo, age 91, of Santa Fe passed away at her residence on October 8, 2020 of natural causes. She was born on September 30, 1929 in Chupadero, NM, to Filomeno and Martina Jimenez. She married Juventino C. Trujillo on June 21, 1949 at St. Francis Cathedral. They were married 60 years before Juventino passed in September of 2009.

 

Known fondly as Bessie, she was dearly loved by her family. Bessie’s favorite pastimes were reading the bible, cooking, gardening, crocheting and playing Sudoku and Scrabble, all of which she excelled at. She was known for her hospitality and was sure to feed you before you left her home. Bessie was a simple, honest woman who was loved by all she met.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Juventino, parents, Filomeno and Martina Jimenez, sisters, Elvira Trujillo and Adelina Ortega, brothers, Rosendo, Gustavo and Jose Jimenez, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Bessie is survived by her siblings, Lucia Jimenez, Margaret Roibal and Isidro Jimenez, daughters, Barbara (Bill) Cassel, Marcia (Daniel) Ronquillo, Lourdes (Roger) Goelitz, Rosemary (Frank) Lujan and Annette Trujillo, her son, Juventino J. (Cindy) Trujillo, grandchildren, Shannon, John Carlos, Anthony, Micaela, Erin, Sean, Jessica, Daniel, Jonathan, Caleb, Siera, Carson, great grandchildren, Larissa, Brianna, Elyse, Julian, Marek, Oscar, Angel, Uriah, Jeremiah, Cassius, Amaya, Mateo, Alexandra, Caleb, James, Isaiah, Dominic, Nathaniel, Ariana, Nevaeh, Eva, Gavin, Lyla, Benny, Samuel, Kyran, Turner, great-great grandchildren, Charlie, Loveah, and a special nephew and Godson, George Jimenez, Eric Martinez, Goddaughters, Shannon Lennon and Dolores Mora, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Services will be held at St. Anne’s Church in Santa Fe, NM on October 19, 2020 with Father Larry Brito officiating. A Rosary will be recited at 8:30 am and Mass following at 9:30 am. Masks must be worn at all times in church. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery for immediate family only due to Covid-19 restrictions.
