Norma Lea De Anda, Age :43

Norma Lea De Anda, age 43, from Los Lunas, New Mexico passed away on Friday October 30, 2020. She was the loving mother of her daughter, Alexandra Lea De Anda and the beloved wife of Rick De Anda Jr. 

She was born Norma Lea Horton on August 9, 1977 to Woodrow William Horton and Melinda Francine Horton. Norma graduated with honors from Los Lunas High School in May 1996, where she played softball. She was married to Rick one week before her high school graduation. Rick and Norma celebrated 20 years of marriage together. She went on to begin a career at Sandia National Laboratories where she advanced from a starting position in custodial services to a Computer Software Support Technologist. She had a passion for success and her ability to work side by side with engineers and other professionals was unmatched. 

She enjoyed traveling with her family. They had numerous camping and fishing trips. Her favorite place in the world was the Mora campground on the Pecos River above Terrero, NM. Trips to Hawaii, Disneyland, Las Vegas, Chama, Ruidoso and New Orleans were some of her other favorites. She had a deep love for her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She loved attending Heaven Bound ministries church. Her outgoing personality always made her the most captivating person in the room. She easily made friends and kept those friends for her entire lifetime. 

She is survived by her daughter Alexandra, her husband Rick, her brother Justin and lots of cousins, uncles, aunts and in-laws. She will be loved and missed by her family and friends. 

Her memory and her legacy will last a lifetime in all of the lives that she touched.

I met Norma through Bosque Farms Christian Academy where I taught her daughter Ally in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. We became friend immediately and did many things together. I so loved her faith in God and how strong she was. I will miss her dearly. Love you Rick and Ally and pray for you daily.

My condolences for Norma’s family. She was fun to be around, made you laugh. Norma went with Heather and I to a Judo match in Arizona one year and it was a fun trip, much laughter, I will always remember her, Rest In Peace.
