Harlond Hale Hauck, Age :77

Oct 01,1943---Dec 12,2020

Harlond Hale Hauck was born in Lebanon, Missouri on October 1, 1943.  He died in Santa Fe, New Mexico on December 12, 2020.  Survived by his wife, Cynthia Chilton Hauck; siblings: Susan West (Craig) and Paul Hauck (Louise).  Children:  Sonya Renee and Dustin Hauck (Jessica).  Grandchildren: Tanner Hauck, Colleen Mellinger, Courtney Tenzer (Saul).  Predeceased by Sheri Hauck, and Linda Hauck.  His loved extended family:  Sheryl Maranz (Randy), Debra Sellers, Philip Holtzman, Brynn O'Neil (Carissa) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He lived in Idyllwild and Palm Desert California.

How can you describe Harlond... a renaissance man.  Entrepreneur: builder, real estate developer, petroleum, automotive consultant and so much more!

He was a mentor to many, a husband, a brother, a father and a grandfather (PaPa).  Kind, generous, funny, caring.  Star basketball at Drury University and a Lambda Chi member.  Loved nascar, skiing, golf, tennis (until his daughter and granddaughters beat him consistently) and many sports.  49ers,Lakers and Warriors.

Movies and dancing!  Always moving, ready for the next adventures that life might hold.  Kind and gentle in his later years, maybe not so much in his early life when he was competitive and driven.

Lived in Springfield, Mo; Rolla, Mo; Dixon, Mo; Houston; LaJolla CA; San Franciso, The Sea Ranch, CA, ; Placitas and Santa Fe, New Mexico;  Manzanillo, Mexico (where he and Cynthia built a house on the ocean) and finally the Coachella Valley and Idyllwild, CA, and likely a few more.

Harlond also loved travel: he has traveled the world..and especially enjoyed London, Italy (married in Verona), Viet Nam, Mexico, Ireland. His next plan would have included Egypt.

He was a forever Eagles music fan.

Harlond passed suddenly, with no warning of sudden cardiac arrest while sheltering from covid in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Basket ball Drury/LXA brother ,Cardiff ,California

Just a quick note to say how shocked I am! I talked to Harlond For first time since I left Drury in November prior to going to Florida and we had a great conversation and I said how close we were in California and next May we were going to get together! If Drury Stats could include Harlond’s stats on 3 pointers prior to the 3 point line he would be a leader! I am sorry for your loss! Yes he was A competitor! I didn’t know Paul but The Hauck Brothers left a good impression on Drury!
