We are all entering a new phase of our lifetime and lifestyles. This is a very fluid time and changes are occurring very quickly. We at Riverside Funeral Homes think it is important to talk about how we are handling the Corona Virus (Covid 19) within our firm.

Our primary concern is the safety of the families we serve, the public that visits our funeral homes, and our staff – as well as the emotional and psychological needs of the families we serve. Our funeral homes are cleaned and sanitized daily, we have ample supplies of hand sanitizer and hand soap, Kleenex, and well-maintained ventilation systems. Our staff is ever present to facilitate the safety and comfort of the families we serve and the public visiting our funeral homes.

We are not aware of any scientific data or reason that would preclude having the deceased present for visitation or a funeral if that is the desire of the family, as long we have permission to perform the proper embalming and sanitizing procedures. Our professional staff are some of the most experienced and finest in the State of New Mexico, as well as are our preparation and public facilities. With proper embalming and sanitation, there are no documented public health threats.

We are very conscious of the government regulations recently imposed banning gatherings of more than 100 people. Funerals are exempt from the recent imposed bans on gatherings. Although funerals are exempt, we are still conscious of the purpose of these bans which is to allow social distancing. We all need to use good judgment and common sense.
