Olivama (Ollie) H. Rael, Age :80

Sep 22,1940---Feb 16,2021

Olivama (Ollie) H. Rael, 80, a resident of Espanola, went to be with our Lord after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.  We grieve our loss, and yet, in the words of Paul to the Thessalonians, we “do not grieve as others who have no hope.

was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cristin Vigilher parents, Cornelio and Maria Salud Cisneros, and all her brothers and sisters:  Cecilia Rael, Rose Rael, Porfirio Cisneros, Juan Cisneros, Josefina Barela, Bessie Grant, Ernesto Cisneros, Faustin Cisneros, Cornelio Cisneros Jr., Bertha Ortiz, Tomas Cisneros, Richard Cisneros, and Senator Carlos Cisneros.

Ollie is survived by her daughters, Sharon Vigil (Kenneth) and Peggy Romero (Jimmy), and her son, Fred Rael (Donna); grandchildren, Jimmy Jr., Manuel, Anthony (Leanne), Michael, Melissa (Clay), Kaitlin, Kiara, Alexis (Analisa), DymondMonique, Angelica, and Lico; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Domino, Andrew, Leah, Kirby, Max, William, and Hayley.  She is also survived by Debbie Segovia (Adam) whom she helped raise and loved like a daughter.

Throughout her life, Ollie maintained a sweet and kind demeanor that won the trust and hearts of all who knew her, who even now are being changed by her witness and example of God’s love. She was a faithful servant for the Lord Jesus. She raised not only her three children, but many more, welcoming into her home extended family and friends. She owned and operated Ol’s Diner for over 18 years where she fed people regardless of their ability to pay. Her journal expressed her heart of gratitude and humility as she proclaimed her love for God and her family daily. She once wrote“Guide my life with Your wisdom and counsel until You receive me into the glory of glories.”

Throughout her illness, she remained sweet and joyful and she never ever uttered an unkind word.  She fought the good fight, she has finished the race, and she kept the faith. Now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support from her caregivers Doris, Patty, Auntie Velmaand Myra, her nurse Amanda, and her housekeeper Lupita.

Due to current COVID 19 restrictions, a celebration of her life will take place at a later time.  You may view a tribute to Ollie at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BKvzrIdONObdvKzG2LYtN4ske-boqJTO/view?usp=drive_web

Dear Family, My heart aches for you at this time. words cannot fully express how thankful I am to welcomed into Aunt Oli’s home at a time that I needed her most. You were all so gracious to me and for that I’m thankful. I feel blessed to know your mom. She only ever had the kindest things to say about all of you and I know how proud she was to be your mom. You’re in my prayers, and my Tia will always be in my heart. Love Morna
