Santos Silva Jr., Age :81

May 29,1939---Feb 17,2021

Santos Silva Jr., 81, from Albuquerque, NM, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. He was born in Manzano, NM to Santos and Carmelita Silva. Santos was married to Elma Silva on November 26, 1960; they were married 57 years at the time of Elma’s passing. 
 
Santos is survived by his three children, Lorraine Silva, Casi Silva, Patricia Torrez, and Son-in-Law, Ruben Torrez; five Grandchildren, Robert Griego, Ruben Torrez, Victoria Torrez, Casandra Silva, and Ricky Baca; five Great Grandchildren, Iris Medina, Emma’Rose Molina, Jovi Molina, Iliana Zuniga, and Carlos Zuniga; three sisters, Tillie Garcia, Stella Valdivia, and Betsy Lopez; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and lifelong friends. 
 
Santos was preceded in death by his beautiful, loving, high school sweetheart and wife, Elma Silva, his parents, Santos and Carmelita Silva, his sister, Mary Silva; his brothers, Albino Silva, Mike Silva, Chris Silva, and Casimiro Silva. 
 
Santos was a retired Ironworker and a longtime member of the Ironworkers Local Union 495. His hobbies included making wrought iron windows, doors, gates, and other small projects for family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time at his ranch in the Manzano mountains, logging and enjoying the beauty of his land. As he got older, he would spend countless hours looking through old photos of family and friends. He loved socializing and would easily make friends anywhere he went.

A rosary will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, on Friday, March 12, 2021, at 8:30am, with funeral mass and burial to follow. He will be laid to rest at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
