Albert S. Montano, age 87,  passed away peacefully Thursday, August 10. 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Jose Louis and Maria Fortunata Montano. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard The USS John W. Thompson. Albert married J. Dolores  in 1959. He attended school for IBM programming systems. He worked for Kirtland Air Force Base at Sandia, and for the State of New Mexico. Albert was the owner/operator of an electronics store. He held an electrician license and took on many other trades throughout his life. Albert was a talented and well known jewelry maker. 
 
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Luis and Maria Fortunata Montano, and  wife, J. Dolores Montano. He is survived by his children, Jeana Lucero, Gloria Romero and husband Martin, Deana Trujillo and husband George, and son Albert Louis Montano. Sisters, Marcela (Stevie) Mabrey, Christine Carey and husband Vic, and Theresa Spencer, brother; Phil Delgado. 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and other relatives. 
 
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Riverside Funeral Home of Santa Fe Chapel at 5:00 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 6:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, at 10:00 AM with Interment to follow at 12:45 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors as accorded by the US Navy Honor Guard. 
 
Pallbearers are: Albert "Bert" Spencer, Dale Spencer, Peter Montoya, Patrick Mares, Wolfgang Mabrey, and Mark Maestas.
