Robert D Martinez, 51, passed away on October 3, 2017 at home in Santa Fe, with his best friend and companion Ringo by his side.  He was born on September 19, 1966 in Santa Fe, to Robert A (Bobby) and Frances P Martinez.  Robert attended St. Anne Catholic School and graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1985.  He worked for Coca-Cola Company, Budweiser Distributing, Montano Sand and Gravel and el Ice Plant all in Santa Fe.  He coached YAFL football; St. Michaels girls basketball and softball; boys basketball at Aspen Elementary.  Robert loved to fish and hunt in the mountains of Northern New Mexico.  He learned to fish from his Grandpa Dan and passed his love for fishing to Jennie at an early age.

Robert is survived by daughter Jennie I Martinez, his father Robert (Bobby), sister Elizabeth Burks (Terry), niece Michelle Segura and nephew Jordan Burks.  Theresa Sweeney (Jennies mother).  Padrinos Alfred and Barbara Padilla; Tio Tom Padilla (Marcie); Tias Teresa LaBute (David); Rose Ortiz; Maria Padilla (Floyd Lucero); Martha Haysmer (Johnny Serna); Dolores Blea; Rose Blea; Ben Blea; and numerous cousins.  Special friends Manny and Pat Martinez ; David and Sophie Pacheco; Bernadette Talavera; Doris Romero; Danny Padilla; Michelle Hicks; Albert and Michelle Montaño ; Richard and Pauline Lopez; Dennis and Angel Garcia; Manuel Sanchez; Charmaine Longacre; Christella Roybal; Cherise Uroiste; Coaches Tom Montoya,  Frank Leyba, Gil Gonzales, Coach Moon, Rodriguez and Martin; and ALL of his “kids” that he coached throughout the years.

Preceded in death by his mother Frances; Grandparents Jennie and Dan Padilla; Catalina and Eluterio Blea and Tio Gordo Padilla and friend Jerry Hicks.

A Rosary will be recited at San Isidro (Center) on Thursday October 12th, 2017 at 7:00 pm and Funeral Mass will be held on Friday October 13th, 10am also at San Isidro (Center) with Father Frank Pretto officiating.  Condolences may be left online guest book at www.riversidefunerals.com.
