Hector Pinero

Hector Pinero was born on March 7, 1951 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.  He was the oldest of four brothers.  He moved to the Bronx in New York at the age of six.  He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and joined the army in 1968.  He traveled to foreign locals like Panama, Korea, and Iran collecting treasures and enjoying the freedoms of the seventies.  In 1977 he met a woman named Zenaida Ortiz and began a two year courtship over the phone from his station in Iran.  On May 12, 1979 Hector and Zenaida wed.  This year they celebrated 38 years of marriage.  Hector had an adventurous spirit that he expressed in fast cars and expeditionary treks into the wilderness.  He was a loving husband who surprised his wife with new/old cars and slow dances in the kitchen.  He had a passion for good food and loud music.  He was quick to laugh and ready with a bawdy joke.  He enjoyed a good cigar and long conversations with friends.

On Monday, October 09, 2017, Hector Pinero, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at the age of 66 years on Los Lunas, New Mexico.  Hector will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Zenaida Pinero, and their children, Hector (Simone) Pinero, Pedro (Heather) Pinero, and Yani Pinero.  Hector will also be forever missed by his grandchildren Joy, Chase, Braxton, and Katherine.  His last faithful pet Loretta is also deeply affected by his passing.

A Memorial will be held in his honor Saturday October 21, 2017 at 12pm at the Bosque Farms Public Library.
