Obituaries

Rachel Aurelia Torres

Rachel Aurelia Torres is survived by her husband Raul Torres and her three daughters, Amy and her two girls Lianna and Annaliese, her daughter Sarah and her husband with their two children Antonio and Daniella, her youngest daughter April with her children Ray and Savannah and by her sisters Connie and Beatrice along with her in-laws and extended family.  Rachel was born to Elfego and Bertha Sedillo in Carrizozo, NM July 9, 1950.  She moved to Stockton, CA as a young girl and finished her high school years in Alamogordo where she also met her husband.  She graduated high school in 1969 and married a few months after.  Five years later they started their family and raised three daughters.  Her desire to always be close to her girls led her to begin a career in education.

One of Rachel’s greatest qualities, compassion was evident in the way she made everyone feel special.  She was always quick to comfort her friends and family by her way of words in person or by her many letters.  Rachel expressed appreciation for all the little things.  From something as simple as a rock to as grand as the moon or sunset she always took time to admire what was around her.  Rachel will be especially remembered for the life lessons she passed down to her children and grandchildren.  She always said life is precious and to treasure every moment.  She taught her family to love unconditionally by her own example.  Rachel will be greatly missed by all who knew her and never forgotten.
