Joe A. `Joey` Gallegos
November 16, 1973 -- August 04, 2018


Joe A. “Joey” Gallegos, 44, of Cerro, NM, went to join his Mama and Dad in the House of our Lord Jesus Christ on August 4, 2018, after battling a lengthy illness.  Joey is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Gloria Jean Gallegos; grandparents, Gil Blas and Clorinda Gallegos, Eusebio and Emilia Rael.  Joey is survived by his children, Antonio, Marcos, and Marina; sister, Emilia “Emmy” Gallegos; beloved cousins, Jamie, Dino, and Whitney and special friends, Ivan, Jimmy, Ben, Marty, Sara, Sonya, and Joni who stood by him through thick and thin, as well as Joey’s extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.  Joey graduated from Questa High School in 1992 and was a disabled Veteran having served in the U.S. Army, 1993 – 1996 during the Desert Storm/Persian Gulf war era.  Joey was a gifted musician; played the guitar with various bands, including his late Dad’s band and with his son.  Joey loved to get together with his friends (jamming away) as often as they could.  He had a sense of humor, was very quick-witted and loved to make people laugh. Joey didn’t have much but he provided shelter and food to all those less fortunate than him.  Joey will be forever loved and deeply missed by his children, sister, relatives, friends and all who knew him.  A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 11:00 AM at Living Word Ministries in Questa, NM.  Inurnment to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Cerro, NM with full military honors as afforded by the United States Army Honor Guard.  To view the full obituary and sign the guest register, please go to, www.RiversideFunerals.com

Brother this is by far the hardest death i have endured. I know you are not in pain and suffering so this helps the healing begin, I will miss all the times spend together growing up and always having each others back.
