Chris L. Garcia

Chris L. Garcia, age 58, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at his home in Albuquerque, NM. He was born September 8, 1960 in Albuquerque, NM to Arsenio and Mary Garcia.

Chris received his Juris Doctor and English Degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque New Mexico during the year of 1989. He worked for the State of New Mexico CYFD for 25 years. On April 26, 1991, Chris married the love of his life, Sylvia A. Sandoval. On October 31, 1989, they had their only child and son, Christopher Lee Garcia.

Chris retired from CYFD on April 21, 2018, to be able to spend more time with his sweet grandchildren, Brianna (age 4) and Blake (age 1) Garcia. These two children changed his entire life and he would do anything he could for them. The amount of love he had for them was immeasurable. He was a music lover, and the greatest fan of the band “Queen”. If you knew Chris, you knew he had a love for fast and flashy cars. He purchased a 2009 White Dodge Challenger and then later a 2014 Toured Dodge Challenger “Ruby”. He enjoyed traveling with his family on many baseball trips/vacations to watch and support his dear son Christopher for all of his tournaments. Chris was also known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and laugh. He was an animal lover, which he leaves behind his lovable cat Wheezer.

Chris is preceded in death by his mother in-law Florentina Sandoval and miscarried grandchild. He is survived by his parents Arsenio and Mary Garcia, loving wife Sylvia Garcia, son Christopher Lee Garcia (daughter in-law Kimberly), his sister Julia (brother in-law Skip), brother David (brother in-law Dave), and two grandchildren Brianna and Blake. He also has many more loving brother and sister in-laws throughout the Sandoval family, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 10, 2018 at Riverside Funeral Home at 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE from 5:30-7:00.

Donations are welcome to be given to the family for all medical expenses.
