Obituary of John Henry Otero

John Henry Otero died on November 15, 2016. He was a combat wounded veteran, Purple Heart recipent and a Disabled American Veteran. He served in Korea and was an Army Sergeant serving in the Infantry's Second Division. He was preceded in death by his parents Rose Vigil and Bernardo Otero and by his son Mark Vigil. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Jesse Vigil and David Vigil and Sister Viola Anderson who was killed in Afghanistan. He is survived by his wife Mary West Otero of 46 years, and by his sons John H. Vigil Jr. and Wife Mary, son Paul Vigil and companion Jane, Daughter Sylvia Vigil. Grandaughters Angie Lyster and husband Harlan, Kimberly Vigil and Grandson Manjoe Vigil and his two Great Grandsons Anthony and Marcus Vigil. He is also survived by sister Mary Louise Mendoza and husband Manny. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 18 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service for John will be held Monday November 21, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper Drive NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111. Interment will take place Tuesday Novemeber 22, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors as afforded by the United States Army Honor Guard.
