Obituary of Christopher D. Dassaro

Christopher David Dassaro was born September 19, 1973 to Tina Apodaca Dassaro and David Dassaro. He passed away May 13, 2017 from stage 4 liver cancer. Christopher is survived by his loving children, Cedric (daughter Calie), Cristobal (girlfriend Selena), Carlos and Cruz; his parents, Tina Dassaro and David Dassaro (Julie); aunts, Patsy Apodaca-Rivera, Margie Anaya, Billie Gutierrez, Debbie Baker (Jack); uncles Mickey Apodaca (Jeanie); special cousins Monica Anaya Keller, Benita Gutierrez, Jackie Morales and numerous cousins whom he loved; also his girlfriend Cristina Villa. Christopher is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Bennie (Tata) and Ellen (Grammy) Apodaca; Leo (Djadju) and Blanche (Babcia) Dassaro; Uncle Ramon Apodaca (Margaret) and friend Peter Herrera. Chris attended Kearney Elementary, DeVargas Middle School, and Santa Fe High School. While at Kearney he played basketball. He and his teammates were champions every year. He wrestled, played football, played baseball and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved his familia, the mountains, sports and the Dallas Cowboys. During Chris's freetime, he enjoyed coaching football, basketball, and baseball. Chris worked for the City of Santa Fe, MFG Communications, and IT Connect. At the time he was diagnosed with cancer he was working for IT Connect. He worked as long as he could but the illness would not let him continue. He missed the work and the great people who he worked with. Chris will be truly missed by all who knew him and will remain forever in our hearts. Memorial Services will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 511 Alicia Street. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 7:30 pm. The Mass of Ressurection will take place Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10:00 am with a reception to follow at St. Anne's Parish Hall. Pallbeare
