Obituary of Irene Randall Ortiz

Irene Randall Ortiz passed away peacefully on April 28 with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dionicio (Don) Ortiz, Jr., Father and Mother, Clint Randall and Dulcinea Randall, Sisters, Marylou Randall, Vivian Padilla, and Brothers Bernardino Randall and Edward “Josh” Randall, Half- brother, Louis Randall, and Half-sisters, Virginia Randall Daubert, and Willie Mae Schmidli.

She is survived by her three children, Dennis Ortiz, Lorraine (Rainee) Ortiz, Patricia (Trish) Ortiz (Husband Gregg Gentile). Sisters – Joanne Hurtado and Lucille Shupla. Grandchildren- Jennifer Gentile and Brandon Gentile. Most especially her great Granddaughter, the love of her life, Shaylynn Gentile. Along with many other nieces and nephews.

Irene was born and raised in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico. She attended Loretto Academy in Santa Fe, NM where she met her husband, Dionicio where they started their family and raised their three children. Irene was a wonderful Mother and also maintained a great career. Irene worked at Pacific Finance for years and then went to work for the NM State Department of Revenue, where she began as a collector and then rose to the highest position of The Chief of the Bureau of Revenue. Irene retired and moved to Albuquerque, NM where she lived for many years and then moved to Arizona in 2018 to be close to her children.

Rosary and viewing will be held at Riverside Funeral Home 3232 Cerrillos Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87507 Monday May 10, 2021 beginning at 6:00pm. A Mass at the Cathedral on Tuesday May 11, 2021 beginning at 10:00am, followed by private burial at Rosario Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.

Pallbearers include: Brandon Gentile, Michael Padilla, Clint Randall, Phillip Aragon, Gerard Gonzales and Mike Hartford.
