Obituary of William Eugene Fladd

William E Fladd of Roswell, NM passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 28th, 2021. Bill was a cancer survivor, which he overcame prior to his passing.

Bill was born in Rochester, NY to Kenneth A Fladd and Grace E Fladd on November 30, 1951. In 2005, he married Anne W Chambers in Albuquerque, NM. They lived together in Roswell, NM until her passing on August 30th, 2020.

Entering the medical administration field in 1975, Bill managed or directed the environmental services departments at many facilities. These include University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Medical Center, Halifax Hospital, The Mayo Clinic, Albany Memorial Hospital, Eastern New Mexico University, New Mexico State University, and Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. He also worked at the Department of State in a similar capacity during his career. 

Bill enjoyed giving back to the community. He was involved with volunteering at the Boys and Girls club in various capacities during his life. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, and was a fan of many American sports and Nascar racing. He was a proud father and grandfather to many children; most of all, he was a devoted husband to his wife Anne.

Bill was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Fladd, mother Grace Fladd, wife Anne Fladd, and sister Caroline Fladd. He is survived by his sons William J Fladd and Laurie, Mark Fladd and Stephanie, and Jesse Fladd; his step-children Lanna Reeves, Barbie Lelek and Tim, Darcy Shearer and Tim, Deon Chambers and Lisa, Sharon Chambers, Mary Anne Merrill, and James Chambers and Wellen; his brother Kenneth Fladd; his ex-wife June Fladd; his nephews Danny Fladd and Sebastian Fladd; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Saturday May 08, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Please join us at the family home at 20 Lost Trail Rd, Roswell, NM 88201. Please bring your favorite memories and a story to share as we say good bye to this “one of a kind” husband, brother and friend.
