Maria was born in Belen, New Mexico, on August 4, 1933.  She and her twin brother Joe and sisters Angie and Lupe shared an unbreakable bond throughout their lives. She married the love of her life Romulo on April 11, 1953 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Romulo and Maria were married over 60 years at the time of his passing.  Maria loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends whenever she could. Occasionally you might find Maria with family or friends at one of the Casinos in California, Las Vegas, Laughlin, or New Mexico.

Maria’s career as a flight kitchen supervisor for American Airlines afforded her and her family plenty of travel opportunities which Maria enjoyed taking advantage of. Maria was proud of her career, her time volunteering with the PTA and her work on a couple presidential campaigns.

Romulo and Maria moved their growing family to Southern California where she

resided for most of her adult life. Maria recently returned home to New Mexico prior to her passing to live with her daughter In Los Lunas.

Maria was always active in her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s lives, participating in PTA boards, as a little league team mom, Boy and Girl Scouts troop activities as a Den mother, to name a few.  Maria was beloved my so many of her friends and neighbors that she often became an extension of their family and adopted by many as a second mom.

Maria  had a great smile, wonderful sense of humor, often playing April Fools jokes on her children. She had a wonderful outlook on life and was a friend to all.  Marian was a wonderful wife, mother and servant to her family and God as a faithful and devoted Catholic, tirelessly serving her church and community throughout her life.

To those that knew Maria, her children and grandchildren want to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing in her life, and for bringing her happiness, joy and love in you own special way.  She was blessed to have each of you in her life just as we’ve all been bless to have her in our lives.
