Mary Lucero

Obituary of Mary C. Lucero

Mary C. Lucero, 66 entered this world on April 30, 1955.  She was called home on October 2, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Avelino Lucero, Sr. and Frances Lucero.  She is survived by her sisters, Daisy Sedillo, Dolores Montoya, Grace Montoya and her brothers, Pat Lucero and Avelino Lucero, Jr., many nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends and family.

Mary was the youngest of 6 and lived her life to fullest.   She was one of the first women in construction and loved to work and to create.

She was very active and loved the outdoors.  She loved to spend time fly fishing and actually tied her own flies.  She also loved to hunt, ski and taught herself to play the guitar.

She had many talents.  She had an eye for art and could sketch just about anything.  She loved to cook.  She did not just cook, she loved to be creative.  She is someone that could walk into a kitchen when you felt you were out of groceries and was able to put something together that was absolutely delicious.

Although Mary did not ever marry or have any children of her own, she was blessed to have many loves in her life and great family.  She spent a lot of time with her niece, Diana Lucero (soulmate Michael Richards) and her daughters, Melanie Mang (husband TJ) and Valerie Popadiuc (husband Vasile) and their families.  She loved to tease Diana and tell her that Melanie and Valerie were in fact her kids.

She was very independent and handled all that life sent her way with great strength and a positive attitude.  She was loving, caring and would do anything for her family and friends.  She will be missed by many.
