Obituary of Maria Romero

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Maria Romero, 70, of Chimayo passed away peacefully on October 5, 2021 after a lengthy illness, joining her loved ones in heaven.

Maria is survived by her cherished husband Joe; beloved sons Jose (Brett) and Marcos (Haley); Grandchildren: Kimberly (Fabian), Chloie, and Markie; great grandchildren: Analisa, Dominic, and Aliyah; sisters Lucille “Lucia” Romero, Lillian (Leroy), and Louise (Tony); brothers Merlin (Lita) and Bedelio (Sylvia); mother in-law Dora Romero and sisters-in-law Adrina, Rose, Nary, Annabelle (Mike) and Betty (Doug); many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Maria was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ronnie; parents Juan and Adelina Trujillo; Brother Genaro Trujillo and sister Bertha Sandoval; Father-in-law Avaristo Romero; Brother-in-law Leroy Trujillo; nephews Lonnie Martinez, Gerald and Bobby Trujillo.

Maria was a beautiful, cheerful woman who loved her family and God. She was forgiving and caring and placed her loved ones and others needs before her own. She was a fantastic wife and mother. She loved to laugh and was always happy, even in her illness. When she was in better health, she enjoyed going for a Sunday cruise with her husband on their 47 Chevy and about a week before her death, Joe lovingly took her on a short cruise one last time which made her so happy! She also loved to dance. She had her last dance with her sweetheart a few weeks before her death. She heard music on the TV and she began dancing with Joe. Afterward she happily sat on his lap. Their love for and devotion to each other is unforgettable.

Rest in peace, sweet Maria. We will never forget you
