Clorinda Cardenas

Obituary of Clorinda Cardenas

Clorinda “Linda” Cardenas was born on March 4, 1925, and passed away peacefully in her home on October 23, 2021, having been cared for by her six remaining children and granddaughter Bernadette Therese Finley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Steve John Cardenas, her son Steven John Cardenas, Jr., and on September 30, 2021, by her youngest daughter, Toni Mary Brittain. She is survived by her remaining children: Gloria Jean Cardenas, Phyllis Juanita Ronquillo, Stephanie Marie Trujillo, Patty Elaine Cardenas and her husband Edward Lawrence Elwell, and James Robert Cardenas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Linda had a passion for salsa dancing. She was a regular at the American Legion Post 100 and attended St. Therese Church and its annual fiestas. She loved roses, pearls, beer, and her many friends. She was always ready to cut a rug, go for a drive, shop, go out for breakfast/lunch/dinner, babysit or take a walk with her golf club.

Our family would like to acknowledge the staff at the InnovAge/Pace Program. The aides, nurses, doctors, and entire staff made it possible for us to care for Clorinda in her own home. Many thanks and much gratitude to all the employees at InnovAge.

A Mass will be given in her honor at St. Therese Church, 300 Mildred N.W., on December 3, 2021 at 9:00 am. Immediately following a gravesite service at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. N.E.
