Obituary of Charles Thornburg
Charles (Pete) Thornburg passed away in Albuquerque, NM on November 4th, 2021 at the age of 93.
Pete proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He was one of seven children from Winchester, Indiana. He lived in many places but eventually moved to Albuquerque, NM. He had a long career with General Electric as an inspector where he was well respected.
Pete was also an avid sports fan who loved watching and playing sports. He was a competitive golfer and also loved watching golf on TV. His love of sports included basketball, football, car racing (Nascar, Indy car), bowling and horseshoes. If sports was on TV he was watching!! He also enjoyed playing the ponies down at the track and was pretty good at it.
He was a long time member of the Moose Lodge where he loved to socialize and enjoyed dancing with his wife Connie. They shared the love of camping in the RV with the Elks members up at Apple Valley in the summertime where they played horse shoes, BBQ'd and played cards and told jokes!
Pete was always one you could call on when in need and was always happy to lend a helping hand.
We will all definitely miss his home grown tomatoes every summer too!
He will be missed by his many friends and family members.
