Obituary of Alvin Eugene Sedillo

On October 21, 2021 at the age of 87, Alvin Eugene Sedillo, entered into his eternal rest and is now in the presence of the Lord.

Alvin was born on June 23, 1934 in Lucero, New Mexico to Carlos D. Sedillo and mother Doloritas (Montoya) Sedillo.

During his growing years, Alvin proudly worked at the Diamond A Ranch as a ranch hand until he graduated from Wagon Mound High School in 1954.

After graduation, he worked at the Mora ranch until 1956 when he was drafted into the US Army and worked as an Army mechanic until his discharge.

After serving in the Army, Alvin met and married his wife of 60 years, Mary Sedillo.

In 1962 they moved to Albuquerque and Alvin began building custom homes for John H. Hill Construction Company.

Alvin was a hard working dedicated man who devoted his life to his wife and family.

He was always there when you needed him and if there was a repair that needed to be done, Alvin was there to fix the problem.

He was adored and loved deeply by his family and enjoyed being around his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He especially had a special love for his grandson Jeremy who he helped raise and mentored him in various ways. Jeremy was like his son.

Alvin will be greatly missed by his family including the numerous neighbors and friends who always enjoyed seeing him outside working in the yard or sitting on his chair and waving hello to them. He loved to chat with anyone who walked by.

Alvin was preceded in death by his father Carlos, mother Doloritas and daughter Frances Aguilar. He is survived by his wife Mary, four children, Robert Mondragon of Wagon Mound, NM, Patsy Armijo and husband Rick, and Carlos Sedillo and wife Veronica, all of Albuquerque. 5 grandchildren , 2 great grandchildren, sisters Eloisa Vigil, Arcelia Lopez, Eva Garcia, brothers Elsio Sedillo and Isidro Sedillo and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque. Mass will be on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 2:00PM, at Queen of Heaven Church. Burial will be in Wagon Mound, NM, on Monday, December 6, 2021.
