Obituary of Joseph Anthony Cordero

 Joseph A. Cordero

Pastor Joseph A. Cordero, also known as “Borrego”, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico and grew up in the Martinez Town community.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Josie Cordero, of 63 years and his six children: Anna Aragon, Anthony Cordero, Patricia Montoya, Elizabeth Page, Carolyn Padilla and Jacquelyn Cordero.

He is preceded in death by his son, Larry Cordero

. Joseph was an incredible man who always sought to provide for his family. His love for his wife was unmatched, and he adored his kids and church family with all his heart, soul, and mind.

He was a devoted man of God, and faithfully served his church community for 30 years

. Earlier in life he served in the Armed Forces in the United States Air Force, he was also a deputy with the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department, and worked for Yellow Freight as a truck driver.

He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and you could always see him cheering them on during every game.

He had a deep passion for preaching the Gospel. Joseph was a highly respected man who liked things done in an orderly manner. He was a man of his word, and was punctual.

His hobbies included riding motorcycles, golfing and spending time with his family. He had a larger than life sense of humor with his grandchildren and was always “selfie ready.”
