Obituary of Ernest Facundo Armijo

Ernest F. Armijo 57, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on February 23, 2022. Ernest was carried on Angel's wings with arms wide open, surrounded by his loving family. Ernest was born on October 7, 1964 to his mother Juanita Y. C de Baca in Denver, Colorado. Beloved son, father, godfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, he will lovingly be remembered for being the funniest person in the room, for his charismatic smile and sense of humor, for his big heart and generosity, and for his loyal devotion to family and those he held most dear. He made everyone feel special and appreciated. Most importantly, he was a loving, proud and doting father to his precious daughters. Ernest was a 1983 graduate of West Las Vegas High School. He was a talented athlete, representing the Dons at State Tournaments in Track and Field, Basketball and Football. In his youth, he was an Alhambra (California) Little League All-Star. His talent as an artist led him to pursue a degree in electronic and robotic systems at Luna Community College, where he then utilized his talents and skill to open Armijo Glassworks and Modern Masters Engraving. His design work and public/private commissions adorn community spaces, schools, residences and churches throughout New Mexico and beyond. He was proud of his service in the United States Marine Corp. Ernest was preceded in death by grandparents/godparents Jerry and Venediza Williams; aunt Charlene Herrera; uncles Isaac C de Baca and Glen Garcia; aunt Joyce and uncle Lum Saquilon. Ernest is survived by parents Albert and Juanita Y. Torres; his beautiful daughter and his world, Christiana Armijo; his beautiful daughter, Celine Armijo and her children; stepson Sebastian Herrera; mother of Christiana, Amor Martinez; mother of Celine, Dina Herrera; sister Linda Marie Pena and her daughters Johnna Walker (children Jayda, Jared and Justice), Darlene Vigil (children Danessa and Mya) and Donna Vigil (daughter Sophia); sister Lynette Diaz and children Connor and Keira; sister Venediza Renee Ortiz (Johnnie) and her children Nicholas (Angelique) and baby Nico, Myranda, Fidel and Evita; brother Albert E. Torres, Jr. and sons Nathan and Sean (godson); aunts Sandra (Don) Stewart and family; Lavon (Robert) Bonte and family; uncles Lee Garcia and Gerald Williams; also many cousins, family and friends whom Ernest loved very much.Serving as Pallbearers are Don Cantrell, Tom Milem, Carlos Montano, Fidel Ortiz, Albert Torres Jr., Nathan Torres, Sean Torres/Godson and Andy Vigil. Honorary Pallbearers are all his nephews and nieces. Rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM  Burial of Cremated Remains at a later date.
