We know Rose is now with her husband, Max A Valdez, her son, Max J. Valdez, her parents and many sisters and brothers who have preceded her in death. Rose was the third of twelve children.

Rose was known across Mora County, where she resided since 1953, for her creativity, which extended into sewing, painting, quilting, crocheting, and weaving. Her artistic ability was beyond measure. What she created with her hands, was top notch and so many people benefited from her creativity and quest for perfection.

When she wasn’t sewing, Rose enjoyed skiing which she took up when she would chauffer her children and other children to Sipapu Ski Area. Traveling was another passion of hers. She traveled to many countries and made lifelong connections and friends across the continents.

For many years, she was active in the Mora County Extension Club and New Mexico Association of Conservation Districts Women’s Auxiliary where she would take on a leadership role and would always let her voice known. She served her community as a member of the Mora School Board and the State of New Mexico when she was appointed by the Governors’ office to the State Health Commission Advisory Board.

Her death has left a great void for all her family and friends.
