Victor Lopez

Obituary of Victor Lopez

Victor M. Lopez, age 61, a resident of Chamita, NM, born 10/26/1960, passed away on 03/21/2022.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ernestine Irene Lopez; parents in-law, Florence and Jacob Gallegos; son, Andrew P. Lopez; nephews, Angelo Lopez and Adrian Romero.

Victor would like to let you know that his work here on earth is done.  He received an offer that he couldn’t refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning.

His new assignment comes with a huge bonus – a reunion with family and friends he has not seen for a long time.  His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be dancing, hearing favorite gospel music, laughter and receiving plenty of unconditional love.

He left instructions for his children, relatives and friends to celebrate his mission and his memories (and sense of humor), two bits of advice left behind – get along with everyone, all we have is each other in this life; and, never eat yellow snow.

Survived by his wife of 43 years, Lucia V. Lopez; son, Matthew V. Lopez; daughter, Ashley R. Lopez; father, Hernandez Sam Lopez; sister, Barbara Romero (Gilbert & David); brother, Ronald Lopez (Sandra, James & Mark); brother, Gerald Lopez (Margaret & Alandra); like a brother, Greg Tyra (Sandra, Emma & Austin); like another brother, Roger Naranjo; sister-in-law, Julie Montoya (Wayne & Danielle Faith); special Aunt more like a sister, Dora Valdez (Horace, Chris & Carlos).

Victor was a barber in the Espanola Valley for many years.  He started his carrier with Carlos Naranjo of Don Carlos Barber Shop, before opening his own business, Victor’s Barber Styling, where he made many, many friends.  He enjoyed cutting hair, fishing, camping, spending time with family picking apples in Lyden, going for wood and spending time sharing meals with friends.

Private services will be held at a later date.
