Cathleen Chavez

Obituary of Cathleen Chavez

Kathleen Joyce Chavez 50, joined the comforting arms of our Heavenly Father on Wednesday April 6th 2022. She was born on January 1st 1972 to Eugene Chavez and Mary Valdez.

Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, loved doing her makeup, coloring in her many patterned coloring books, listening to her oldies, doing arts and crafts, eating her fried okra, mashed potatoes, meatloaf, her French fries from McDonald's and Mozzarella sticks from Sonic. She loved her Thanksgiving dinners too. She also loved going on long rides with the ones she loved so she could have those unforgettable conversations and captured every moment on camera whether it be in pictures or video so she could reminisce on the memories all the time. She loved laughing & teaching her grandkids karate. Kathy was a firecracker. She always said was on her mind and always defended her family. She let it be known that she would do anything for her family and protected them no matter the situation. Even through tough times and when she was hurting a smile and a big hug would be given to whoever she was around. Any time she hung up the phone a sincere "I love you" was never left unsaid. Those three words are going to be missed so very much. And her laugh, it was truly contagious. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Mary Valdez, her daughter Baby Bernadine Gurule and Fiancé Aaron Lujan, all of whom she missed everyday of her life. She was also preceded on death by her grandparents Georgia and Eugenio Chavez.

She is survived by her loving children who she called her baby boys and baby girls no matter their age, Rudy Gene Chavez & wife Vanessa, Marissa Rodriguez & husband Isaac, Amanda Rose Chavez & wife Natasha, daughter Jolene Chavez, son Mikey Chavez and wife Jazzlynn. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren who were her sunshine; Jade Chavez, Jordan & Jeremiah Chavez, Bernadine, Jennica, Ninavea, Isaac Jr Rodriguez, Rudy Gene Jr, Charity, Destiny, Santiago Chavez & Jose, Julian & Olivia Galvan. She's also survived by her father Eugene Chavez, sisters Marlene Espinosa & Darlene Valdez-Telles, her best friend Crystal Gutierrez and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her children and grandchildren were her entire world. She was always so proud of every single one of them and would glow with happiness when she would talk about them. They were all her entire world and loved them more than life itself.  We know that even now she is loving them and protecting them from the heavens above as she once again holds her bay girl Berna in her arms. Momma, Kat, Kathy, you will be always missed and cherished by everyone who loved you. Your smile, laugh, voice, presence and spunk will be missed everyday and you will never be forgotten. Fly high with the ones who are waiting for you in heaven. This is not a goodbye, it's a See You Later. Until we meet again. We love you ❤️
