Phillip Sena

Obituary of Phillip Nicholas Sena

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Phillip Nicholas Sena. Phillip left us on April 7th 2022 at the age of 39. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by us all. He touched the lives of so many. In keeping with Phillip's loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate life so others may live it. His organs and tissues were donated, after his death. It provides some comfort to know his big heart continues to beat in this world.

Phillip was born on December 7, 1982, the oldest of his siblings. He grew up in Bernalillo, moving to Albuquerque as a young man where he continued to live until his death. He was a talented Glazer and Mechanic, always tinkering and fixing things, even when they weren’t broken but could be improved. Currently, he was employed as a caregiver. If Phillip didn’t know how to do something, he taught himself how to do it. He was very creative and he loved animals and plants: from his many dogs, turtles, snake, his fish tank, to his ability to grow plants of all kinds, including his latest project his garden and his yard.

He had a nickname for everyone and loved to be silly, making everyone smile. Phillip never had any children of his own, but was the best Uncle ever. If Phillip considered you a friend, you were his friend for life. He would work on your car, come save you in emergencies and be there for whatever you might need. Phillip had the most beautiful blue eyes like his Grandma Liza. When he was a little boy he use to flirt with all the waitresses and would be remembered for his beautiful eyes and contagious smile. Phillip loved celebrating life, especially holidays, where he would go all out to decorate his house for Halloween and Christmas. He was a big kid for all the holidays and special occasions, making them more fun and special for everyone.

Phillip had many hobbies and restoring his ’51 Chevy Pickup was one that he had since he was in his 20s. He rebuilt every inch of his truck and loved to cruise it, when it was running and the weather was nice. He loved his fish tank and creating unique features for it. He was amazing with any and all technology, helping his family when we most needed it. Phillip was gifted in so many areas and ways it’s impossible to share them all. His passing leaves us all heartbroken. We will really miss him.

Phillip is survived by: his parents Susan and Jim Duncan, father Anthony Sena, sister Christina Gonzales(partner Ernest), brother Cody Duncan, sister Brianna Sena, nephews Frank and Gabriel, and his girlfriend Joanna Baca, as well as many Uncles, Aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by: his Grandma Liza, Roselle Higginbotham, grandfather Ray Duncan, grandparents Sam and Alvina Sena, uncles Luis, Robert, Gregory, and Phillip Sena(whom he was named after).

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11am at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd, Albuquerque, NM. Pallbearers will be Cody Duncan, Jerill Higginbotham, Jesse Higginbotham, Jory Higginbotham, Robert Saavedra, Frank Gonzales, Ernest Montoya, Daniel Gonzales and honorary pallbearer Sammy Marquez. There will be a potluck reception following the burial at Phillip’s parent’s home in Bernalillo, NM.
