Obituary of Vincent Joseph Evola

Vincent Joseph Evola passed away April 14, 2022 at the age of 78. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 7th at Slate Street Billiards, located at 2003 Southern Boulevard SE, Rio Rancho, NM, 87124, from noon to 3:00. Billiards was a passion of Vince’s and no other place would be better to celebrate him and his life. Vince had a true dedication to this sport and enjoyed studying its nuances, analyzing the mental aspects of the game, and sharing his love by teaching others.

Vince was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 15, 1944, to his parents Joseph (Riley) and Carrie Evola. One of his great endeavors was owning Scruples Bar and Restaurant in North Kansas City, Missouri where he had free access to playing pool and meeting new people who shared his love of pool. In 2000, Vince and his wife Vickie, moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to work with his sister and brother-in-law at B&T Roof Truss. In 2004, Vince was blessed to receive a new start in life as a heart transplant recipient. He retired in 2017 so he could spend more time with his many loved ones and friends.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Carrie Evola; his uncle and aunt, Nicholas and Vincie Evola; his sister, Mary Katherine Scimeca; and his daughter-in-law, Kelly Evola. He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Moore and his children: Joseph Evola, Carrie Evola, Vincent and Kim Evola, Rosemary Evola and Antonio Padilla, Dennis and Cheri Jennings, Jennifer and Ron Koch , and Eric and Jessica Harris. Vince was blessed in his life to have 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who lovingly knew him as Papa Vince.

To all of Vince’s family and friends in Kansas City, we will hold an additional celebration of his life in Kansas City this summer.
