Obituary of Grace Atencio

Grace Atencio age 100 passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 21, 2022. Grace was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, attending arts and craft shows and playing cards. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and loved the Lord with all of her being.

Grace was preceded in death by the love of her life, Andrew; daughters Rosemarie Rodriguez, Patsy Cizan; siblings, Leo, Amalia, Beatrice, Barbara, Rosario, Genaro, Manuel, Mary and Terry. She is survived by her son, Bill Atencio (Lupe) grandchildren, Monique Kelso (Donald), Retta Atencio, Carlos Rodriguez (Nitza), Jackie Rodriguez, Christina Engel (Jason), Elizabeth Cordova, Pam Cizan, Heidi Scheppers (Scott), Patricia “Trish” Cizan; great-grandchildren, Brad Cordova (Esther), Kyle Crespin, Leticia Leyva (Christian), Rico Leyva, Galeano Rodriguez, Miguel Rodriguez (Maddison), Madelynn Watkins (Andy), Sheridynn Scheppers (Collin), Evan and Elise Kelso, Samantha Verdeja (Alfonso), Chelsea Engel; great-great grandchildren, David Cordova, Lilian Watkins, Madeleine Verdeja and Alfonso Jason Verdeja and many Godchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Grace lived a very happy and fun filled life and will be missed tremendously by so many. Grace would like you all to know she “loved you more and more”.

Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and mass following on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 1:30 pm. Committal will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
