Obituary of Laurel Farson Bumgarner

Laurel ( Kay) Farson Bumgarner 12/08/37 - 04/26/22.  Kay passed away on April 26, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM.  She is predeceased by her husband, Ronald Eugene Bumgarner, and survived by her sisters, Sue Kapp and Patty Hamptom, her brother Jon Farson, her daughters Lisa and Darla, her son Randy and his wife Charlotte, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Kay Was born In Washington, DC to Vern and Laurel Farson. She grew up in the small towns of Payette and Nyssa, Idaho, and Vale, Oregon before her family moved to Colton, California where she attended San Bernardino Valley Community College.  It was there that she met her future husband Ron with whom she enjoyed a 56 year marriage.  They eventually relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico to start a new business in the electronics industry, finding success and enjoying their new life in the Southwest.

Kay was a kind and gentle soul who enjoyed life and especially doted on her family.  She enjoyed being a grandmother and was always there for her family unconditionally. She was a constant supporter of her children’s activities and encouraged their endeavors.

Her children have many happy memories of family vacations, camping, visiting National Parks, and visiting extended family. Kay was a member of Asbury United Methodist church in Albuquerque for over 40 years.

Kay loved the outdoors and traveling and was fortunate to spend retirement with her husband, traveling the world and vacationing with their camper.  She loved animals and had many beloved pets. She was a wonderful homemaker and kept a nice family home, yet she always found time to be active and healthy, walking three miles a day well into her 70’s.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends, and those whose lives she touched.  We love you Mom.
