Obituary of George Newton Kinnison

George Newton Kinnison, age 88, passed away on May 5, 2022, in Albuquerque, NM.

George was a Navy veteran, serving from May 1954 and honorably discharged in May of 1964, after serving on the USS Oklahoma City. After a short period working as an offset cameraman, George went to work for the US Army Corps of Engineers as a photographer and manager of audio/visual equipment creating many promotional videos and photographs for the Corps. After receiving many commendations and awards, he retired in 1992.

George was an active member of the Rio Grande Mustang Club for 33 years. Not only did he and his wife Stella own Mustangs, George was a Gold Card Judge. George was a knowledgeable resource for members who needed help with their cars.

George was also an avid horse-racing fan and loved to gamble.

One of his passions was German Shepherds. He was the owner of a award winning German Shepherd named Honeyboy Duke. His last German Shepherd and special friend was Zhor.

George is survived by his wife, Stella Delgado-Kinnison, and his step-daughter, Cynthia Fritsch of Iowa.

There will be a memorial service for George at the Riverside Funeral Home on May 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
