Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Courtright

On Monday July 4th, 2022, Susan Elizabeth Courtright passed away at age 73.

 

Susan was born in Detroit, MI to James and Elizabeth (Knorr) Andrew. She spent many years in Stony Lake, MI where her parents ran the hotel along the lake. She graduated from Santa Monica High School and received her Bachelors degree in education from Northern Arizona University (NAU) in 1970. She married the same year and raised two children, Stacy and Scott. 

 

Susan pursued a career in hotel and resort sales which took her across the United States and Europe. Later, she taught elementary school in Casa Grande, AZ. 

 

Susan always had a love of volunteering her time and throughout her life she helped with Girl Scouts, adult centers, elementary schools, and senior centers, including the Busy Bees at Palo Duro Senior Center, among many others. She was also very proud to be an alumni of Northern Arizona University, and served a 7-year term on the NAU Alumni Board. 

 

Susan was very adventurous and never turned down an opportunity to explore or experience new things.

 

Susan was preceded in death by her mother Betsy Andrew, her brother David Andrew, and her father, James Andrew. She is survived by her husband Bill Ludeke, her children Stacy and Scott, and her grandchildren Sydney and Zoey.
