Obituary of Helen Patricia Stange

On June 27, 2022, Helen Stange, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father with her loving husband and family at her side.

Helen was born on October 19, 1939, in Harrisburg, PA into a large Polish family, as a first generation American. She developed her passion for cooking and baking at a young age. She loved cross-stitch and spoon collecting.

She graduated St. Joseph’s Nursing Hospital a Registered Nurse at age 22 in New Jersey. She later obtained a master’s degree in Nursing at St Francis University. Helen was an amazing emergency department RN for over 15 years before becoming a nurse manager for 40 years. Her incredible career lasted over 62 years.

Helen was a dedicated volunteer in numerous community and church projects. She participated in Marriage Encounter, Engaged Encounter, Knights of Columbus, AmVets, Eucharistic Ministers and Bible Studies.

By the Grace of God, Helen and Richard found one another. They joined their hearts for 59 years, 10 months and 2 days. Together they created the beautiful family we are today.

She is survived by her husband Richard; daughters Patty Stange, Cathleen Rutin and Diane Schoeller; granddaughters Brandy Jeter-Flores (Mike), Louisa Schoeller (Corey), Katie Schoeller (Shawn), and Alexandra Martinez (Jose); great grandsons Julian Jeter-Flores, Michael Flores, Matthew Flores, James Schoeller, and Ezekiel Schoeller; sister Dolores Connell (John); brother Stanley Kosierowski and extended family Lois Rivera, Kathleen Henry, Cindy Powers (Bill) and Kathleen Gough.

Her funeral mass will be at St. Joseph’s on the Rio Grande Church on Friday, July 15 at 9 a.m. Rosary at 8:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Knights of Columbus Council 10560.
