Obituary of Robin Whyms

ROBIN WAS BORN THE OLDEST OF TEN CHILDREN IN A SMALL NEW ENGLAND TOWN CALLED WATERBURY, CT TO MARION AND JERRY PETTEWAY. From the time that she was a young lady she cared deeply for others. As the oldest child in her family she looked after her younger siblings and that was the beginning of a constant theme in her life. Robin was a nurturer and she spent much of her life taking care of anyone who needed her help. Whether you were a sibling, nephew, niece, grandchild, or friend if you needed someone to care for you Robin was willing to give you all of herself. People who didn’t know her well may have assumed that she was quiet. But, Robin loved to laugh and joke. Her sense of humor never left her no matter how sick she got she still found the humor in the ironies of life. She also was a tremendously curious person. Her curiosity expressed itself in her choice of hobbies. Her hobbies were extremely varied she loved video games, classic movies, photography, crocheting, baking cakes, and fish-keeping, but her favorite thing was sitting with friends and family for good conversation and talking trash. She dedicated her life to Jehovah in baptism on February, 11 1979. In the last few years of her life she committed herself to spending as much time as she could manage in her volunteer ministry. This culminated in her signing up for Pioneer service which is a fulltime volunteer ministry. Over the last two years during COVID she travelled the world virtually through zoom meetings and preached with people from countries all over the world. Robin leaves behind two sons Tony and Yuri. Eight grandchildren Jaden, Aja, Kalob, Hudson, Nia, Aria, Aries, Benjamin. Nine siblings Skye Washington, Jerry Petteway Jr., Vanessa Petteway, Nehemiah Yisrael, Parrish Petteway, Amber Atuatasi, Starre Petteway, Erick Petteway, and Bianca Wolcott. Please join us as we celebrate the life of Robin Whyms and reflect on the hope that she entertained. The memorial service will be held on July 30th at 3:00 PM at: Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses North Auditorium 8904 Menaul Blvd NE Albuquerque, New Mexico 87112. There will be a Zoom session. If you’d like to attend via Zoom, please email Skye at spettewaywash@gmail.com.
